Avoiding Hard Disk data recovery Services

As a home computer owner, one of the greatest threats to your information and to your wallet, is hard disk failure. When your drive crashes, you will quicky realize how valuable the information you can no longer access is.

And when you start searching for disaster recovery services, you will be surprised how much it will cost to recover that data. Here are a few tips to help you prevent a data disaster on your harddisk.

1. If you have an older hard drive, be sure to run free tools like Data Lifeguard software to check the current condition of your drive. By discovering any problems before they crash your disk, you'll have a chance to copy your information before all is lost.

2. When the time comes to copy your data from one disk to another, remember to keep the old hard disk. You'll want to make sure you have a backup while you give your new drive some time to make sure it is running well.

3. Even on new computers, files on your hard drive can become disorganized over time. Make sure to run your favorite defragmentation program regularly.

4. Partioning your disk can also help improve performance. Make sure to do this from within your operating system if your disk already has partitions on it. This can often be done through your operating systems management console.

5. Do not ignore any problems that crop up. If your computer starts acting strangely, running slower, or giving your error messages, run a scan disk or CHKDSK immediately. Remember, it will be much cheaper to repair your hard drive prior to a total crash!

If you think taking the extra time to follow these steps to care for your hard disk seems time consuming, I recommend you check out the cost of harddisk data recovery. You'll quickly realize the value of these tips!

Easy Vegetarian Pasta Sauce Recipe

This vegetarian homemade pasta sauce recipe is based on top quality ingredients. It not only helps the dish to taste as well as it does, but also provides the greatest health benefits.

EASY VEGETARIAN PASTA SAUCE

Ingredients:

2 Tbsp cold pressed olive oil
2 crushed cloves organic garlic
2 14.5oz cans fire roasted crushed organic tomatoes
cup white wine (Riesling)
1 tsp honey
tsp dried organic sweet basil
Cracked salt and pepper to taste

Method:

In a medium saucepan, gently saut garlic in the olive oil until softened. Add crushed tomatoes and stir. Then add all the remaining ingredients. Stir well, cover and bring to a boil on med-high heat. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Cook the accompanying pasta of choice. Ladle the sauce over the pasta and serve with freshly grated Parmesan.

Serves 4-6

I would like to recommend De Boles Natural Gourmet Pasta Linguine to go with this recipe. The DeBoles brand is the best-packaged pasta I've ever tasted and has been selected by CHEFS IN AMERICA as AMERICA'S BEST. A tip when cooking pasta is to not add salt to it, as it tends to turn a lovely pure product into something that tastes more like seaweed. There is adequate salt in the sauce and the Parmesan cheese to enhance the flavor of the overall dish.

This Easy Vegetarian Pasta Sauce dish tastes like a top chef prepared it, but is easy enough for a novice cook to make. It's also a healthy, vegetarian alternative for an evening meal.

BlackBerry Cell Phone Review

A permanent access to all your emails... You dream about it? Blackberry phone did it. The BlackBerry is a wireless handheld device introduced in 1999 which supports push email, mobile telephone, text messaging, internet faxing, web browsing and other wireless information services. Same size as a PDA, with a mini keyboard, BlackBerry device allows you to receive and reply to emails.

How does it work? Connected to a cell phone network (Cingular BlackBerry, T-Mobile BlackBerry, Sprint BlackBerry, Nextel BlackBerry and Verizon BlackBerry), terminal BlackBerry regularly query the email server of the user. When a new email arrives, the terminal signals it. The user can then read the message and reply. Innovation comes from the fact that synchronization of the emails with the messaging server is real time through the cell phone network it is connected and it supports both GSM, GPRS and UMTS.

Of course, BlackBerry service is more specifically dedicated to companies. The devices are very popular with some businesses, where they are primarily used to provide email delivery to roaming employees. To fully integrate the BlackBerry cell phone into a company, the installation of BlackBerry Enterprise Server is required.

But the popular device BlackBerry that allows reading emails using cell phone network is forbidden in some companies. Indeed, some security experts fear about communications being intercepted. However, Research In Motion (RIM), editor of BlackBerry, claims that all the traffic is encrypted from start to end by the Blackberry servers installed in companies. In fact it has the exact same security level as a traditional VPN if correctly configured.

A Blackberry handheld allows users to fulfill their need of communication but also give them the feeling of control that a phone conversation doesn't offer. More and more professionals often work in mobility situation and need to permanently be connected to computing system of the company.

According to a recent study, one third of business users show signs of BlackBerry addiction almost similar to those of alcoholism. Some people even use the ironical term "crackberries" to name the phenomenon. Also, most users are supposed to get BlackBerry devices to enhance their productivity but their constant attachment to email make it hard for them to concentrate on other things when they are out of office.

The professional Blackberry is a "all in one" terminal, phone/PDA/messaging, which design is optimized to allow users to manage emails on the go and to access various applications. The original BlackBerry device had a monochrome display, but all current handsets have color displays.

Most BlackBerry devices is equipped with a full QWERTY keyboard, The ease of keying in and sending not only emails, but also SMS, is particularly practical, even if they do not have a BlackBerry.

However, the BlackBerry has no memory extension, no 3G compatibility, no camera and not much style. What is more, multimedia functions still remain low compared to other Symbian or Windows mobile. That is until today with RIM unveiling its first and brand new multimedia phone dubbed the new BlackBerry Pearl. But still BlackBerry devices depend on mobile phone service coverage and are not WIFI compatible unlike similar handheld devices that are on the market now.

RIM BlackBerry is increasingly integrating instant messaging into their new devices and software. RIM offers its own proprietary BlackBerry Instant Messenger, but also offer a Yahoo Chat and Google Talk clients and probably an upcoming BlackBerry MSN Messenger client.

According to RIM, BlackBerry PDA is used by about 5.5 million users worldwide.

Blackberry is used by almost 3 million users in America. Some sources say about 1 million government employees are regular users. Canada is another one of the key market of the company.

While including the usual PDA applications such as address book, calendar, to-do lists, etc you can always download more BlackBerry software like games, ringtones, themes, webclient and other applications.

Find more information about BlackBerry cell phone at Ringtone Jam Jam. The website also provides BlackBerry ringtones for download.

skincare for Sensitive Skin - Tips for Outdoor Protection

The skin is your body's largest organ and there are approximately 19 million skin cells on every square inch of skin. More than half of women today have sensitive skin, which is easily irritated or reactive in a variety of situations. skincare for sensitive skin helps your skin look its best during every season and all conditions.

First of all, you know you have sensitive skin if it is dry, delicate, easily damaged or irritated, has reduced tolerance to weather conditions and is subject to allergic reactions. Sometimes your skin may feel tight or tingly, reacts to physical stress such as shaving and appears red or irritated.

skincare for sensitive skin requires using gentle cleansers and moisturizers that are free of perfumes, heavy oils and additives. Other precautions are to watch your intake of alcohol and rich or spicy foods, avoid extreme temperature changes and manage personal stress. All of these factors can take an unfortunate toll on the appearance of your skin.

Autumn is a season where we are all still outdoors and doing yard work, even though the weather is getting colder. Taking special care of sensitive skin is a must during this rather harsh season. Although the sun seems less intense, use a sunscreen all year round to protect your skin from the harmful UV rays that can be equally strong during other seasons.

If you are gardening, use gloves to protect the skin on your hands. As the cold weather comes in, our skin already loses essential moisture and gloves protect your hands from dryness, blistering and cracking.

Although the weather requires heaving clothing, beware of synthetic fabrics that do not breathe or clothing that is too tight and binding. Choose clothing that fits well with room to move around and that is made of natural fabrics that breathe, such as cotton or silk. Wool can also be a good choice unless you find it personally irritating to your skin. Also, make sure to remove those bothersome tags inside your clothes that can cause chafing on your skin.

Wearing a hat is an important way to protect your hair and skin from sun damage while keeping your head warm in the colder weather.

Although the insects are less prevalent and annoying in the fall, they still exist. The ability to wear long sleeves and trousers does help to keep them away. However, you can also spray your clothing with insect repellent to drive the bugs away without putting a potential irritant directly on your skin.

With a little extra skincare for your sensitive skin, you will glow and look healthy during any season of the year.

Rain Shut Off Devices for Automatic Lawn Sprinkler Systems

Automatic sprinkler system controllers are programmed to go on and off on a certain day and at a certain time. The controller does not know if it is sunny and dry outside or raining. For this reason every lawn sprinkler system should have a rain sensor.

The rain sensor determines whether or not enough rainfall has occurred in order to skip an irrigation cycle. There are three basic types of rain sensors. They all serve the same purpose: keeping your system from over-watering the turf or your garden. How does it do that? The electrical connection between the sensor and your sprinkler system controller is interrupted when a certain amount of rain triggers the device. The sensor breaks the electrical connection so that electricity cannot flow to either the sprinkler valves or to a pump start (if your system is on a well without a pressure tank).

One type breaks the connection by weighing the water in a rainfall collection cup. The problem with this type is that leaves, sticks, or the occasional lizard will find its way into the collection cup and therefore turning off the system.

The next type uses electrodes to determine how much water is in the collection cup. This kind of rain sensor device also has a system problem of collecting things other than rainfall in the collection cup.

The most common type of rain sensor used by professionals is the expansion disk device. This kind of sensor does not use a collection cup; instead rainfall causes cork disks to expand. This device uses a pressure switch to break the electrical connection. These can be adjusted in increments of to the desired rain fall setting. This adjustment is usually set to turn off the sprinklers after of rain has fallen.

The most important aspect of installing a rain sensor is where to place it. It should be installed in an area that is unobstructed by trees, roof over hangs, or anything else that might block rain from getting to the sensor. If it is a wired sensor, placement is generally near the sprinkler controller. The wires should be connected inside the controllers valve wiring panel. This allows for easier electrical trouble-shooting of the system as the sensor can be easily disconnected.

In the last few years, FM wireless rain sensors have become very popular. Although they are more expensive than the wired devices, the ease of installation and increased placement options offset the cost. Most wireless units come with by-pass switches built into the device. Some digital controllers also offer by-pass options for both wired devices and wireless rain sensors.

No matter the type of rain sensor type that you choose, all rain sensors offer many advantages over not adding this detector to your automatic sprinkler system. Some of the immediate and long term benefits include:
Saves Money. Whether you pay for city water or spend electricity running a pump, the money you save over time will more than pay for the rain sensor.
Extends Sprinkler System Life Span. Irrigation systems are made up of moving parts. If the system parts are utilized less frequently (during the rainy season), they last longer.
Protects Water Resources. By limiting the over use of your sprinkler system, rain sensors reduce excess water run-off that carries fertilizers and pest control chemicals into our shared water supply.
Conserves Water. Less water is wasted when less supplemental water is needed for your turf and in your garden.

How much money can you save with a rain sensor device?

It will vary based on your water source (city, re-claim, or well) and where you live (water costs, electrical rate, climate). Here is one example that demonstrates the benefits listed above:
Seminole County, Florida.
System Description:
Designed to irrigate a quarter acre of grass and programmed to apply of water every time the system runs.
This schedule would equal 6,788 gallons per irrigation cycle.
This system (on City Water) pays $2.30 per thousand gallons.
Every time the rains sensor interrupts a sprinkler cycle, you would save $15.61

According to a recent study in Florida, the use of a rain sensor device averaged a 45% savings in water for single-family residential water usage.

The next time you see a sprinkler system running in the rain, you now know it doesnt have to be that way. Rain sensors are affordable solutions to conserving our water, protecting our water resources, and saving you money.

music Industry Runs Into Copyright Enforcement Problems In France

As you know by now, the music industry aggressively pursues file sharing networks claiming that the exchange of music on them is a copyright infringement. Well, the industry now has a problem in France.

Unless you have been living under a rock, you are probably aware of the copyright wars on the net. Nobody has more aggressively pursued copyright infringement claims than the music industry, specifically record labels and their group associations. In the United States, the industry has had great success hunting down and suing defendants whether they be file sharing networks or those dangerous criminals known as kids.

The key to the music industry efforts has always been court rulings. With significant decisions across the country, and eventually one by the Supreme Court, the music industry was given carte blanche to do its thing. Down went Napster and other networks. While the copyright fight in the US has gone well, the industry is having problems in other locations.

In Europe, privacy rights carry far more weight than in the United States. In practical terms, there is little privacy left in the United States thanks to law enforcement and politicians using the terrorist scare to pass legislation that allows them to look into just about anything. Private companies such as those in the music industry have piggy backed this legislation to carry out there claims. Well, Europe represents a problem in this regard.

While privacy rights are dead in the United States for all intensive purposes, it is not in Europe. The books are full of laws protecting an individuals privacy rights, to wit, to keep prying eyes away from looking in on what they are doing. This includes what an individual looks at on the web, what sites they visit and what they do there. This represents a problem for the music industry.

To catch people that file share, the music industry must look into their actions on the web. This puts the effort to protect copyright in conflict with individual privacy rights. So, who wins? In a recent decision in France, the individual privacy rights.

In a case involving a man in Paris, a French court ruled his privacy rights outweighed the copyright of a recording industry monitoring group. In an interesting twist, the case against the man was dismissed and the decision paved the way for individuals to go after the recording industry for violating privacy rights. The French government has also shown interest in criminally prosecuting the recording industry participants that admitted to monitoring 300,000 to 400,000 people without their consent. The potential penalties? 300,000 Euros and 5 years in jail PER OFFENSE!

Obviously, the record industry has sited the above decision as being an anomaly and plan to appeal it. Those interested in the copyright war on the net, should keep an eye out for further developments. The case could lead to a fundamental change in the file sharing situation.

camcorders- Steady Films Without a Tripod

Any time a camcorder is handheld there is a likelihood of camera shake occurring due to unintentional hand movement or shakiness. One of the best ways to eliminate this problem is to use a tripod whenever possible. However, the situations in which it is unhandy to use a tripod, or one is not available, are too numerous to mention. Thus, the average user typically operates without a tripod with the result being tremulous or jerky films.

Thankfully, camcorder manufacturers offer a variety of methods to reduce the effect of inadvertent movements. The two most common features offered on current camcorders are electronic and optical image stabilization. Electronic stabilization, also termed digital stabilization, is the more economical means of steadying images. However, optical stabilization, or mechanical stabilization as it is also described, tends to offer superior performance. There are also other differences between these two methods of image stabilization that potential buyers should consider before making a purchase.

In order to "stabilize" an image, the camcorder must first "sense" the movement, differentiate it from intended movement of the camera, and then compensate for image changes due to unintended movement.

With electronic stabilization, the image on the CCD is compared from frame to frame. If the image moves from one frame to the next, the camcorder will stabilize the image by eliminating the portions of the image around the outer edge; the portion which varies from one frame to the next. Once this portion of the image is eliminated it is filled in by digitally expanding the center portion of the image. When a portion of the image is eliminated and the remaining pixels are left to fill in the area, the quality of the resulting image is often compromised. Because the digital zoom function used on many camcorders has a similar effect of reducing image resolution, it should never be used in conjunction with electronic stabilization.

A camcorder with electronic stabilization should be able to differentiate the movement of a subject, say a bicyclist riding across the field of view, versus the movement of an entire image or scene caused by shakiness. However, it is still best to disable image stabilization whenever panning to capture intended movement to assure that the camcorder does not attempt to stabilize such motion.

Electronic stabilization works best outdoors and in situations where lighting is very good. Because electronic stabilization adds no additional moving parts, camcorders with this type of feature tend to be smaller and lighter weight that camcorders which employ optical stabilization.

camcorders with optical image stabilization sense movement via built-in gyrosensors which detect motion and signal adjustments to the camcorder lens which redirect incoming light to counteract small movements. This is a more complex process but does not result in the loss of image resolution as all image information is retained. Optical stabilization is thus more effective in low-light situations and when zoom is used. In addition, the optical stabilization method seldom results in false interpretation of intended versus unintended movements. On the other hand, with a more complex lens and additional moving parts, camcorders which employ optical stabilization tend to be larger and consume more power than their electronically oriented counterparts.

Image stabilization is an important feature for some buyers who wish to produce films that are smoother and absent of much of the jerkiness present in handheld shots. The difference between electronic and optical stabilization however, can be significant. Thus knowing which type of stabilization is present on any camcorder being considered for purchase is critical.
